How much exercise do I need to protect myself from osteoporosis?
Answered By Editor
Exercise has been linked to preventing
osteoporosis. This is because exercising
stimulates the bone remodeling cycle that
maintains bone density and enhances bone
strength. The different exercises that
stimulate the bone remodeling cycle are
weight training, walking, running, biking and
other weight bearing exercises. It is
recommended that you first consult your
doctor before beginning an exercise program.
This is because getting the proper exercise
will also depend on your current health
status, age, and bone density.
